Overview
Gallagher Bassett Technical Services is seeking a qualified fire safety professional with a valid FDNY F-01 (fireguard for impairment) certification to become a valued member of our Safety & Health team. The ideal candidate for this position must be a proactively motivated individual with the ability to perform their duties and responsibilities with minor supervision. The fire safety professional will operate on various construction sites in the New York City area. There is room for advancement with the proper certifications and experience.
Responsibilities
- This position will follow the code requirements for FDNY F-01 COF as per the NYC Fire Code.
- Conduct inspections and perform fire safety inspections to identify and mitigate fire risks.
- Training and education to deliver and develop fire safety training programs to employees and the public.
- Emergency Response to fire incidents, including drills and training.
- Maintain accurate fire safety logs and documentation as required.
- This position requires the ability to work early morning (A.M.) and late shift (P.M.) work hours, including weekends and holidays.
Required Qualifications
- FDNY F-01 Certificate of Fitness.
- High school diploma/GED equivalent with an additional 3 years of professional experience.
- A valid NYC DOB SST Card and training.
- Competent to instruct and provide training/instruction on-site personnel as needed.
- Ability to read, write, and speak English fluently.
Preferred:
- Located in the NYC Metro area.

- Strong organizational skills to participate in multiple projects simultaneously, prioritize assignments and prepare daily/comprehensive reports.
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills to interpret collected data/information, apply appropriate occupational safety and health standards/regulations, and offer recommendations for improvement.
- Strong understanding of regulatory, professional, and industry standards and practices.
- Proactive attitude and customer service focus.
- Computer competency in Microsoft Office (MS) products including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and Teams.
Compensation: $27.00 an hour
